DO I NEED TO COMPOST 1EVEREST BAGS?

You can, but we recognize that's not possible for everyone. 1EVEREST bags are designed to reduce traditional plastic waste, no matter how you take out your trash. lf you want to compost your 1EVEREST bags, you can compost them commercially using a compost service (check for composting facilities near you), or compost at home (for home compostable certified bags). 1EVEREST bags will break down cleanly in a matter of weeks in a composting environment.

CAN I USE 1EVEREST BAGS FOR TRASH?

Yes! 1EVEREST bags could be used for trash however, our bags are made from plant-based and compostable materials that would perform best in a composting environment.

CAN ICOMPOST 1EVEREST BAGS AT HOME?

1EVEREST bags are BPI Certified Industrially Compostable and with the exception of our Tall Kitchen Bags, they are also TUV Certified Home Compostable. That means you can use a commercial or industrial service or compost at home (whenever you see the TUV OK Home Compost certification on the bag and packaging). HOW DO ICOMPOST 1EVEREST STORAGE BAGS?

Our small space kitchen and zipseal bags are carefully crafted to be home compostable. Once you're finished using your bag, remove any inorganic elements. To compost more efficiently, trim off the zip-seal top, then throw both sections into the compost. WHAT DOES TUV AND BPI CERTIFIED MEAN?

TUV Austria is the most intensive certifying body for compostable goods. With the exception of our Tall Kitchen bag, 1EVEREST bags are TUV Certified home compostable. This means that they have passed the most stringent tests for at-home composting and have been proven to break down effectively in a home compost in a timely manner.
BPI Certification signifies that our products can be effectively composted in a commercial composting facility. This rigorous testing ensures that 1EVEREST bags biodegrade without leaving behind synthetic residue.
In a nutshell, 1EVEREST bags have been rigorously tested and can be composted right in your backyard (with the exception of our Tall Kitchen bag) or an industrial facility.
